Hi everyone, I’m really hoping someone here has dealt with this before because I’m going in circles and nobody seems to give me a straight answer. I have a 2017 Audi A6 and about a month ago I started getting this warning on the dashboard saying low battery charge even though I drive the car every single day. I took it to a general garage near my office and they tested the battery and said it was weak so I paid 650 dirhams for a new one. For about a week the warning went away but then it came back again. I went back to the same garage and the guy told me maybe I need to drive longer distances to charge the battery properly. I drive about 45 minutes to work every morning so that didn’t make sense to me. A friend who used to own an Audi told me that these cars have complex electrical systems and when you replace the battery you have to code it to the car’s computer otherwise the car still thinks the old battery is installed and doesn’t charge the new one correctly. He said I should have gone to proper Audi battery replacement professionals Abu Dhabi who know about the coding process instead of a random garage that just swaps batteries without doing any programming. Is this actually true or is my friend just overcomplicating things? If coding is really necessary then how do I find someone who knows how to do it properly without charging me dealership prices? Also could there be something else draining my battery like a faulty module or a light staying on somewhere? I’m tired of seeing that warning light every morning and I’m worried I’ll get stranded somewhere. Please share your experience if you’ve had similar issues with an Audi. Thank you.
