Ok so maybe this is insane but hear me out. My husband and I have been dreaming of Morocco forever and we finally have the chance to go this spring, but we’ve got a three-year-old who’s pretty good at traveling but definitely has his limits. We’re trying to figure out if the desert is even feasible with a little kid or if we should just stick to cities. I’ve been looking into private desert tours from marrakech thinking that might be better since we could control the schedule more and stop whenever he needs a break or gets restless. The group tours seem like they’d be torture for everyone involved if he started melting down. My main concerns are the long drives obviously, but also the sleeping situation in the desert camps and whether the food is kid-friendly or if we need to bring our own snacks. He’s actually really excited about camels which is why I haven’t given up on the idea yet. Has anyone here done this with a young child and lived to tell the tale? Would love to hear honest experiences, good or bad, before I commit to something we might regret halfway through. Also any tips on what to ask tour companies specifically about child accommodations would be super helpful.
