  Anyone actually track their yearly car expenses?

  Was sitting down looking at my bank statements the other day, trying to figure out where all my money goes each month, and I realized I spend a shocking amount on my car without even really thinking about it. Between the regular oil changes, that surprise battery replacement last month, new tyres a while back, and the random little things that keep popping up, it really adds up over the year. I drive a Camry, nothing fancy or problematic, so I can’t imagine what people with European cars must be dealing with. I came across this website that actually has detailed breakdowns of what different maintenance items should cost for various models here in the UAE, and it’s been really eye opening for planning ahead. It’s got me thinking seriously about budgeting for car repairs and checkups rather than just reacting when something breaks and hoping I have enough in the account to cover it. Just curious if anyone else here keeps a separate fund for car stuff or has a rough idea of what they spend annually? Would love to know if my numbers are normal or if I’m just unlucky with things going wrong.
